Samantha Hund writes devastating dark fiction where ambition kills, love corrupts, and suffering is an art.
Her work revels in the tragic, the uncanny, and the emotionally unhinged, weaving together ritual magic, doomed prophecies, and characters who bleed beautifully. She describes her current project, The Last Dawn, as “deeply upsetting in all the right ways”—a story that does not flinch from pain, longing, or the ruin that follows desire.
Her debut poetry chapbook, a face full of flowers, was published by Bottlecap Press in 2025. She was a Third Round Finalist in the 2024 NYC Midnight Short Story Competition, and her writing is published or forthcoming with ExPat Press, Anti-Heroin Chic, Eulogy Press, Michigan City Book Review, Some Words, Burial Magazine, Blood+Honey, BULL and others. She is a member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) and is currently seeking representation for her debut novel.
When she’s not feeding readers to the wolves, Samantha can be found rewatching Jean Rollin films, hoarding too much tea, and pretending she didn’t just emotionally destroy your favorite character.
She lives in New York and is currently at work on her latest novel, a literary goth rom-com.
